Jack joined the Chicago Police Department in 1988. During his 30+ years on the job he has worked in district patrol, tactical team, and the organized crime divisions’ narcotic section. While Jack was assigned to narcotics he worked as a surveillance officer, an undercover officer, and an enforcement officer. Jack also served on the CPD’s High Risk Entry team for three years. He executed high risk search warrants through out the City of Chicago, and Chicagoland area.
In 2005 Jack was assigned to the Chicago Police Department Education & Training Divisions Tactical Training Unit. Here he taught basic room entry classes, advanced room entry classes, dignitary protection, weapons detection, situational awareness classes and the active shooter program. He received his Firearms Training Certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board for Firearms, and is a certified law enforcement instructor for the Chicago Police Department. He is currently assigned to the Chicago Police Department Training Academy in the Firearms Training Unit.
He is a registered Firearms Instructor with the State of Illinois as well as a Carbine Instructor.
Josh was a Police Officer with the Kansas City MO Police Dept from 1993-1995. He joined the Chicago Police Department 1995. He is a 20 year veteran on the job, and is currently working Area North Violent Crimes.
He first began in the 23rd district, and for four years worked as a patrolman and tactical officer. Josh was assigned to the Organized Crime Division Narcotics Section for 4 years. During his time in Narcotics he was an undercover field officer. Josh was sworn as an FBI Deputy and participated in joint investigations. He was an original member of the High Risk Entry Team where he received advanced weapons and tactical training.
Josh was promoted in 2003 to Detective, and assigned to Area 3 Homicide-Gangs-Sex Crimes. In 2007 Josh became part of the Organized Crime Division Gang Intelligence Section, here he worked with the FBI on joint investigations.
Chris joined the Chicago Police Department in 1995. In his 24 year career, he has worked in numerous positions within the police department including district patrol, bicycle patrol, plain clothes assignments, mission teams and specialized units including HBT and the Chicago Police Department SWAT team. During his career he attended firearms shooting schools with SIGARMS Academy and Chapman Academy. He received his Firearms Training Certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board for Firearms and Carbine Instructor, and is a certified law enforcement instructor for the Chicago Police Department.
He currently is assigned to the Chicago Police Department Training Academy in the Firearms Training Unit. Chris is a registered Firearms Instructor through the State of Illinois. Chris is a member of the ISRA and the NRA and a member of the OATH KEEPERS.
Efrain joined the Chicago Police Department in 1992. In his 27 years of experience in law enforcement. Efrain has worked in various departments, including but not limited to patrol, tactics, and specialized unit training, i.e., Hostage Barricade Tactics and SWAT. As a SWAT team member he served as both a Team Leader, and instructor with a focus on firearms, tactics, and less lethal/distraction devices. Since 2012 Efrain has been working within the Chicago Police Academy as a firearms instructor for both new recruits and in-service personnel. He graduated from Loyola university of Chicago with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.
Mario is a 27 year veteran of the Chicago Police Department. He spent 10 years with SWAT, including 6 years as a SWAT Instructor. He is a Certified Instructor, currently teaching full time at the Chicago Police Academy where he instructs new recruits firearm use. He also conducts in-service firearm instruction for veteran officers. Mario served with United States Marine Corp from 1981-1985.
Joe joined the Chicago Police Department in 1998. In the 19 years as a member of the department he worked in district patrol, tactical team, gang units, gang suppression, homicide teams, and the DEA task force. Joe is currently assigned to the Chicago Police Department Training Academy in the Firearms Training Unit. Here he assisted in designing and implementing the CPD rifle program. He is a Firearms Instructor for both recruits and in service officers.

Bo Medenica is a +21 year veteran of the Chicago Police Department. Bo holds
MBA as well as graduate certificate in Training and Work Place Learning. He is as a security
specialist and a lifelong martial artist who has been an Instructor, Coach, Referee, International
Competitor and student, possessing numbers martial art and law enforcement certifications as
well as awards, titles and commendations.
Bo trains law enforcement in Use of Force, Control Tactics and Tactical Fitness. He
also teaches medical response, tactics, and firearms. Bo writes and updates
curriculum for the police academy, as well as having written and developed a courses for law
enforcement. Bo a is a licensed EMT-B, and a Crisis Intervention Team Member. He is
also a Certified as a Law Enforcement Instructor, Control Tactics Instructor, a Law Enforcement
Fitness Specialist, and Firearms Instructor.
As an independent consultant, instructor, and public speaker, he has taught and lectured to
groups and corporations on personal and public safety, including such diverse groups as the
Boeing Company, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, DePaul University, Roosevelt
University, Paramount Staffing, The Chicago Tribune and the Japanese American Service
Committee. He also has been a controller/evaluator on emergency management exercises with
focus on law enforcement response, most recently at the Metro Atlanta UASI Full Scale exercise.
Previously, as a SWAT Operator, his roles have included Trainer/Instructor, Team Leader,
Mission Planner, Safety Officer and the primary liaison officer to Fire and EMS. He has
developed and executed training programs which include Advanced Control Tactics, Tactical
Fitness and Active Shooter Response. While on the SWAT team Bo was a Member of
Security and Counter Assault Teams that protect the U.S. President, Vice President and other
visiting dignitaries. Bo was also involved in the SWAT Airport Security initiative at
both Chicago airports.
As a former member of the Gang Enforcement and Gang Intelligence Units, he has initiated
investigations, developed and identified intelligence, prepared and executed warrants, worked
extensively with outside agencies including the FBI, DEA, ATF and State Police, successfully
culminating in thousands of felony arrests.
Bo is security professional whose goal is helping making people safe.
Mike is a Police Officer with the Chicago Police Department since 1998. Mike has worked on multiple Tact Teams. Mike has been a firearms instructor with the Chicago Police Dept since 2009 working with In-Service Officers and recruits in both pistol and rifle training.
Phil is a Police Officer with the Chicago Police Department and has been on the Police Department for 16 years. During his time in the Chicago Police Department Phil has worked in a special citywide unit for 2 years, and then transitioned the last 2 years working as a Full-time Firearms Instructor at the Chicago Police Academy. Phil has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Safety Management.
